Job overview

St Luke’s is a happy, over-subscribed Primary School, which opened in September 2011 and presently has children up Year 5. At capacity, we will accommodate 105 children; 15 in each year, with children in Years 1 to 6 taught in three mixed-age classes (Y1 & Y2, Y3 & Y4, Y5 & Y6). Our vision is to develop an excellent school for the local community, where the Christian values of faith, hope and love are evident in everything that happens. Through nurturing our children, both academically and spiritually, we aim to provide them with secure foundations for life, so that they leave St Luke’s with an excellent all round education and a love of learning.

The school is growing year by year and for this reason, we are looking to appoint a Deputy Headteacher who is also an accomplished KS2 class teacher.  Release will be provided for Senior Leadership duties. The position would be an excellent step up for an experienced teacher, who is looking to further their career and who has:

  • a good knowledge of the primary curriculum, particularly in Key Stage 2
  • high expectations of children’s achievements and behaviour
  • a genuine enthusiasm for teaching
  • commitment to taking a leadership role in a small, flexible team to help create an outstanding environment in which our children can thrive
