We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, inspirational and ambitious Deputy Headteacher with outstanding leadership qualities for April 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic professional with a strong work ethic to support the Headteacher and Governing Body to provide professional and strategic leadership and management of the School’s Strategic Priorities.

You will be expected to play a major role under the overall direction of the Headteacher in formulating and reviewing the School Improvement Plan, monitoring progress towards its achievement and leading and managing staff and resources. The Senior Leadership Team are a versatile team, but clearly there is an expectation that the Deputy Headteacher has a wide range of experience and has the ability, skills and understanding to be strategic. 

The Deputy Headteacher Academic and Pastoral Progress will be responsible for support and challenge of members of staff, specific responsibilities reflect the needs of the school as determined by the review of the school’s Strategic Priorities and School Action Plan.  

We are an 11-18 mixed comprehensive school that has outstanding facilities and a state of the art learning environment; we are extremely popular and oversubscribed.  The school is within easy reach of Leeds, Huddersfield, Wakefield and the surrounding district.

Titus Salt School is a mixed non-denominational community school and sixth form for pupils aged 11-18. It is located in Baildon, West Yorkshire, and was formerly known as Salt Grammar School. 

The school was founded in 1896 by the politician and philanthropist Sir Titus Salt, and has about 1,500 pupils. It was originally on a different site, and used to be segregated into male and female divisions. It moved to a new building, constructed under the Building Schools for the Future programme, in 2008.
