Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and inspirational Deputy Headteacher for a unique opportunity to be a Senior Leader at an independent school that was rated Good by Ofsted in July 2021.

Brighton and Hove Clinic School is based on the same site as Brighton and Hove Clinic, a 16-bed specialist eating disorder service for young people aged 11-18.

The school offers a highly personalised full-time study programme at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 so that young people can continue to study subjects chosen at their home school or college, and we provide a comprehensive transition programme to support the reintegration to a young person’s home school or a new education placement upon discharge.

Young people are admitted and discharged throughout the academic year and the anticipated length of stay is between 16 and 30 weeks, however, this is dependent on each young person’s presentation and some admissions have lasted for up to one year.

The post holder will have operational leadership of the school ensuring that all young people receive a high quality of education, will assist the Headteacher in the strategic leadership and development of the school, and will have overall responsibility of at least one key area.

This is an extremely rewarding and versatile role, perfect for a dynamic, innovative, and resilient teacher who has the ability to lead and inspire staff and the vision to create an outstanding centre of education.

You will be joining an enthusiastic, friendly, and well qualified small team of staff who work closely with the hospital team to make an enormous difference to young peoples’ lives.
