The governors of Lane End Primary School are seeking to appoint an inspirational and committed Deputy Head teacher to work with us in achieving our aim to provide outstanding education for our children. The role will focus on leading teaching and learning and pupil progress throughout the school. This post has a weekly teaching commitment.

Lane End Primary School is a good school which has grown in recent years. We are forward looking with a strong approach to teamwork and inclusion. ‘Leaders at all levels are ambitious and have high expectations for all pupils.’ (Ofsted, 2014).

We are looking for:

A whole school leader for Teaching and Learning who demonstrates an excellent understanding of the new Curriculum 2014 with a view to inclusive teaching and learning for all; someone with the ability to develop an engaging learning journey from EYFS to Year 6, that holds creativity at its heart whilst accelerating progress in the basic skills of Reading, Writing and Mathematics.

This requires someone who has:

  • The leadership skills to inspire staff, children and parents through innovation and motivation
  • The ability to work strategically in order to secure outstanding outcomes for pupils
  • Outstanding and creative teaching skills, with the ability to coach and develop colleagues
  • A commitment to raising and maintaining children's aspirations and with high expectations of achievement for every child
  • Knowledge and experience of leading the support for pupils with Special Educational Needs
