The Deputy Head role at James Rennie School is as diverse as its pupils, so you will be equally at home in the classroom as an outstanding practitioner, giving advice to other schools, supporting families, delivering CPD or working together with our many partners. An essential part of the Deputy Head’s role is to lead on new developments, so you will bring with you enthusiasm, vision and the communication skills to elicit change.

James Rennie is an outstanding school for 150 pupils aged 3-19 with severe and profound learning needs located in Cumbria. We are a growing school and have just started work to build a residential capacity for 8 pupils.

It’s essential that you are ambitious and believe you can make a real difference to young people and their families, both on a daily basis and for the long term looking decades into the future.
