Job overview

“Ignite your ambition”
Do you want to join a highly motivated and talented leadership team where helping every student to achieve their hopes, ambitions and dreams is at the centre of everything we do?

Bridlington School is a successful 11–18 maintained school with 971 students on roll, a number which is rising year on year as our reputation as a centre of excellence grows within the local area. We have a small but thriving sixth form and students are polite, respectful and keen to learn. 50% of students are entitled to free school meals, 23% are also on the SEN register, predominantly due to difficulties with literacy and numeracy skills. As a relatively small school, we are able to foster a truly inclusive environment with a real sense of community.

Teaching and learning is at the heart of everything we do and we are constantly striving to ensure our students not only achieve, but exceed their academic targets.  We have a friendly, talented and dedicated staff team and value staff highly and invest heavily in CPD to allow everyone to continue to develop their skills and abilities throughout their careers at the school. We believe passionately in ‘growing our own’ and a significant proportion of our middle and senior leaders started with us as NQTs.

To join us on this journey, we are seeking a new Deputy Headteacher who will initially lead us on Curriculum Innovation. This crucial role offers an opportunity to join our Senior Leadership Team as we continue to develop an outstanding learning culture across the school. You will take a strategic lead on enhancing our inspirational curriculum which places the use of digital technologies at its centre. Your subject specialism is not important but your energy, optimism and enthusiasm certainly are as you will share our passion for teaching and learning and be committed to making a real difference to the lives of young people.

You will join a talented and hardworking staff team, supported by a Headteacher and Governors who are committed to fostering a culture of team work, collaboration and professional growth.

Bridlington School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and appointment is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

If you are interested in this unique opportunity and would like to meet the head and find out more about our school and the role, please email jobs@bridlingtonschool.org.uk or visit https://www.bridlingtonschool.co.uk/ or www.getineastriding.jobs

Closing Date: 12 noon Friday 25 September 2020.
Interview Dates: Thursday 1 & Friday 2 October 2020
