North Ridge School Governors are looking to appoint an energetic, innovative and inspirational leader to help build on the established successes of the school. The person must be committed to working in partnership with the Headteacher and SLT in raising standards and securing the best possible achievements for every child, and will have some structured timetabled responsibility across all key stages.

It is essential that the successful candidate will:

  • have high expectations of both self and others and have a proven record of raising attainment
  • have excellent leadership, management, interpersonal and communication skills
  • have the necessary skills and expertise to lead on Literacy & Communication throughout the school
  • have in-depth knowledge of all key stages and current initiatives within the special school sector and demonstrate a clear vision of excellence in special education
  • be highly organised, motivational and flexible, with the ability to lead, inspire and challenge children and colleagues
  • have excellent relationships with children.

North Ridge is a school with currently 120 pupils aged 3 - 19 years from across the Doncaster area, all of whom have a statement of severe special educational needs.

North Ridge is a community day special school for 102 pupils aged 3-19 years with severe learning difficulties. This new school opened in September 2008, as part of the restructuring of special schools in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. The new building opened in January 2009.
