About La Mare de Carteret High School

Located on Guernsey, the Channel Islands, La Mare de Carteret is a secondary school first established in its current form in 2009, following a merger with another local secondary school. The school follows the standard curriculum common between all schools on the Channel Islands, with students at the school ultimately working towards their GCSE examinations at age 16. Following students have the option of either leaving education, or continuing their further education studies at a local college, allowing them to study for A-level examinations. The school is able to support this curriculum with a range of modern teaching and recreational facilities. The school is dedicated to providing a comprehensive education for students from a range of social and economic backgrounds, and works hard to ensure that the school curriculum is properly personalised and equipped to support the educational needs of every child. The school also seeks to provide for the personal development of its pupils, ensuring their social and emotional intelligence progresses along with their academic ability.
