This is a fantastic opportunity to work as part of a collaborative trust wide senior leadership team under the direction of and with the support of, an excellent Head of School and the wider Executive Leadership Team of Together Learning Trust. 

As part of the Together Learning Trust, you will also benefit from fantastic support from the central team, the school improvement team and your fellow leadership teams of the other schools in the trust. With expertise on hand to support you in areas such as curriculum design, behaviour and culture, finance, operations and communications, you’re free to work alongside the Head of School to lead and nurture the brilliant staff and students at this wonderful school.

What the role involves in a nutshell:

  • Work with the Head of School to ensure outstanding leadership and management of the school
  • Deputise for the Head of School in their absence on all matters
  • Support the Head of School and governing body to promote the school’s values and develop the school’s vision.
  • Lead and have direct responsibility for one key focus area of leadership as directed by the Head of School.

Honley High School is a large secondary comprehensive school in Honley, West Yorkshire with approximately 1,280 students aged 11-16 on the school roll.

Honley High School first opened in 1932 and occupies a delightful rural setting in the heart of the Holme Valley. The village of Honley has a population of approximately 6,500 and has rail links to Huddersfield and Sheffield and has regular bus services.

We value working in partnership with others and in September 2019 we joined with four other schools in Kirklees and Calderdale to form the Together Learning Trust. This multi-academy trust, which replaces our previous Co-operative Trust status, has been founded on the principles of Integrity, Creativity and Excellence. Our expectation is that by working together as a family of schools we will be able to provide even greater opportunities for our learners and greater access to professional development for our staff.  We are pleased that many of our previous Co-operative Trust partners agreed to transfer across to support this new venture and are continuing to work with us to develop our children into well-rounded and socially responsible young adults.
