Job overview

As our previous Deputy Head leaves Ainslie Wood to take up their own Headship, we are excited to share the excellent opportunity the vacancy opens up.

Our aim at Ainslie Wood is to provide a high quality education that engages every single child by understanding them and the individual things they need to find success. To achieve this requires fresh thinking – about the curriculum, teaching, learning and ways of working.

Our new Deputy will join an established professional learning community that believes in a high level autonomy and high support model. They will work closely with the head but will develop their own freedom to pursue their own vision for how to achieve our aims in the most effective ways possible.

Our Deputy will not only oversee the ongoing development of teaching and learning but will also nurture leaders to want to push the boundaries of what is possible in education.

If you are an innovative, passionate and organised leader who can support children, staff and families to ensure that barriers to learning are broken down in a drive towards everyone meeting their full potential, then we are the school for you.

 Applicants should be:

•       Values Driven

o              Believing in every child, a deep sense of diversity and inclusion, and a belief in social justice

•       Committed to educating the whole child

o              Knowing that different children need different things in order to be successful

•       Skilled at Developing Staff

o              Able to create a climate of innovation and enquiry within a collaborative professional learning community

•       A Courageous Designer

o              To design great practices that balance innovation with rigour and to be as concerned about skilled implementation as generating ideas

•       Thoughtful and Engaged Collaborator

o              Seeking out opportunities to forge partnerships and deepen relationships

•       Curious, Reflective and Restless

o              Constantly seeking out new ideas and thinking deeply about the purpose of education

We can offer:

•       A committed staff team including a supportive Senior Leadership Team and Governors

•       A strong commitment to your Continuing Professional Development within our award winning professional development system

•       Established and effective systems that you can evaluate and develop further
