The Governors are seeking to appoint an outstanding, inspirational and highly motivated individual to work with the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team and staff to build on the school’s existing transition successes taking the school to the next level since becoming an Academy in January 2024 and joining the Mater Ecclesiae Catholic Academy Trust (MECMAT). 

The successful candidate will need to be a practising Catholic and have a proven track record in leading and managing key areas of responsibility including Teaching and Learning and Catholic Life.

Christ the King Catholic High School is a smaller than average sized secondary school which is oversubscribed within the South Preston area of Lancashire with around 400 students on roll. This will be increasing by 100 over the next 5 years.

The school has an excellent reputation within the locality and beyond. In our recent Section 48 Inspection (March 2022), the school was recognised as outstanding.  Inspectors commented that:

The quality of provision for Catholic Life is outstanding. The school has a distinctive and undeniable Catholic identity which is lived out by staff and students’

Christ the King Catholic High School is a mixed, non-selective, Catholic secondary school situated in Preston, Lancashire. There are approximately 400 students at the school between the ages of 11-16.
