Deputy Headteacher Salary: L15-L19  

Ivy House is an outstanding special school (Ofsted April 2016) that provides education for 83 children and young people aged between 2-19.  Our pupils have severe, complex and profound & multiple learning disabilities. We offer a happy, supportive and purposeful environment where pupils are nurtured, praised and acknowledged for who they are, the skills they acquire and the tasks they accomplish.  

Due to a restructure of the school’s Leadership Team, the Governing Body is looking to appoint an outstanding Deputy Headteacher to further support and develop excellent practice within the school. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate to further develop their skills and abilities within a supportive and outward facing school. The post is to begin in September 2018.  

The Deputy Headteacher will

• Support and lead on key areas of the school improvement plan, including the 

      leadership and management across the site. 

• Ensure that standards of teaching and learning remain outstanding and are child-

      focused.

• Develop high quality educational experiences, resulting in high levels of progress, 

      achievement and attainment for all.

• Work with school leaders to support the operational running of the school, including 

      statutory procedures.

• Be a key person in liaising with other professionals, families and the wider community. 

• Support the clear vision and ethos of the school.

 • Contribute to the development and review of policies and practice, including the Self 

     Evaluation Form and School Improvement Plan.
