We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and ambitious leader to share in the leadership and management of our school through the role of Deputy Headteacher. This vacancy has arisen due to the successful career move of our Deputy to the field of educational technology. The successful applicant will work with the senior leadership team on whole school improvement priorities to ensure that high standards are achieved in line with the school development plan. 

Oakdale Junior School is a three-form entry Rights Respecting School and has a positive, supportive and nurturing ethos, serving a multi-cultural and socially diverse community. 

The successful candidate will be expected to have: 

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills 
  • Evidence of being an outstanding teacher with KS2 experience 
  • High expectations of achievement and behaviour 
  • The ability to motivate and inspire staff and pupils to further improve standards of teaching and learning 
  • Good understanding of assessment practices, including end of key stage statutory assessments
