Are you an ambitious leader ready to take the next step? Do you have a secure knowledge of effective provision for pupils with a wide range of SEND needs?

Marshfields Special School wishes to appoint, on a full-time basis, an energetic, creative and inspiring Deputy Headteacher to help lead our school in the next stage of its development.

Marshfields School is a 191 place special provision for students aged 7 to 19 with a wide range of Learning Difficulties. In September 2023 the school achieved a ‘Good’ Ofsted Inspection Rating which reflected the school’s ethos that every student matters. The school currently has a well balanced budget and places the continued success of the students at the forefront of everything we do.

We are looking to recruit someone who:

·        Has recent, successful experience as a Senior Leader or someone who is looking for an opportunity to take the next step in their leadership career and make a positive impact in our school

·        Is driven, highly ambitious and enthusiastic

·        Has a strong understanding of effective provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and SEND legislation.

·        Shows a commitment to an ambitious curriculum, excellent teaching and learning which leads to pupils developing independence

·        Is an excellent communicator and able to build effective partnerships with families, staff, governors and the wider community

·        Has a flexible approach to working

·        Has a strong commitment to inclusion

·        Has a secure understanding of effective safeguarding

Marshfields School is a successful Y3 to Y14 Special School for students with complex learning difficulties. Small classes mean that our teachers get to know the needs of all individuals in their care and plan the curriculum accordingly.

Marshfields students are well motivated and eager to learn with excellent levels of attendance.  Student outcomes and behaviour are good.

We are a designated hub school for Peterborough, providing CPD and expertise in Moderate Learning Difficulties provision across the city.
