Job overview

Are you a current or aspiring Deputy Headteacher looking for an opportunity to lead and teach in a school that shares your values of inclusion, high achievement and the development of the whole child? Do you believe that all children deserve access to the very best learning experiences?

At Northampton School for Girls we value, respect and care for our students. We are committed to ensuring that every single child, not only achieves their full academic potential, but also develops as a respectful, compassionate and rounded individual. Our school is characterised by strong relationships based on respect. Students and staff work together to create a learning climate that is productive, calm and happy. Staff at Northampton School for Girls are committed to mixed-ability, creative and autonomous teaching which has the student experience at its heart. We believe that children learn best when they are happy, well and feel valued. For this reason, we invest heavily in the pastoral care which forms the pulse of our school.

We require a Deputy Headteacher who shares our values and will champion children. This crucial post will suit someone who believes that strong, principled leadership is what makes the difference to young people. The successful candidate will be part of a leadership team who are supportive, enabling and focused on learners.

Although all members of the leadership team share responsibility for the pastoral and curricular, the specific nature of this role is negotiable and can be personalised to play to the strengths of the successful candidate. Experience of being, or willingness to become, the Designated Safeguarding Lead would be welcomed.

Closing date for all posts: Friday 27 January 2017
Interviews to be held: Wednesday 8 February 2017 and Thursday 9 February 2017
