Deputy Headteacher of the Primary Phase

Full-time, permanent position from September 2018

Salary – Competitive, based upon the United Learning pay scale

The Primary Phase of William Hulme’s Grammar School (WHGS) is one of the most over-subscribed primary schools in Manchester.  We have an excellent reputation and high aspirations for all of our children, who enjoy a creatively-rich curriculum and are equipped with the skills that will help them to become responsible members of the local and global community.

This is an exciting time to join the school.  Having recently moved into a fantastic new building within the WHGS campus and expanded to two form entry, there is now an excellent opportunity for an outstanding, hardworking and inspirational leader to help shape the future of both the Primary Phase and the whole school.  As Deputy Headteacher of the Primary Phase, you will harness this opportunity and by working alongside the newly recruited Headteacher, you will lead significant change and improvement to make WHGS an outstanding place to work and learn.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they:

• Are an outstanding teacher, committed to raising standards of achievement for all children, and can demonstrate outstanding pupil progress

• Keep the children at the heart of the teaching and learning process

• Have a strong understanding of assessment and experience of tracking and monitoring of standards across all phases

• Are principled, resilient and lead by example

• Have energy, enthusiasm, excellent interpersonal and organisational skills

• Have and maintain excellent staff relations, recognising, utilising and developing the skills of all staff

• Are committed to working in partnership with all those involved in the life of the school

• Will take an active part in all aspects of school life

In return, we offer a highly competitive remuneration package, a vibrant place to work with great staff and children, where you will find a genuine commitment to continuing and enhancing your professional development.
