At West Oxford Community Primary School, we are recruiting a highly motivated, dynamic and inspirational leader to join our welcoming and progressive school. The Deputy Head role is part of the Senior Leadership team, supporting the Head Teacher in the setting of the school vision and strategy and development plans.

West Oxford Community Primary School is a one form entry school in an urban setting a few minutes’ walk from the vibrant city centre of Oxford, yet is set between open parkland, rivers and canals. There are excellent transport links to the school including bus, rail, and road.

We are seeking a leader with the following qualities;

  • an excellent key stage 2 class teacher with a proven track record of skills, and a commitment to the achievement and well-being of all children
  • proven positive impact on teaching and learning within their current and previous practice
  • strong experience in leadership and working in a team, having led either a key stage or phase, as well as a core subject
  • ambitious and resilient, with a desire to progress within a school leadership role
  • a determination to further develop their own practice, and enthusiastic about new challenges and taking risks
  • a focus on innovation with a positive attitude to change and development
  • a highly effective communicator, and who can build and maintain positive relationships with children, school staff, parents and others in the community
  • an ability to implement creative approaches to learning and to inspire others
  • a willingness to uphold and model the school’s values at all times?Care, Inspire, Think and Achieve
