We are delighted to introduce you to Havant Academy – a secondary school where we know every student as an individual and where the combination of excellent teaching, pastoral support and extensive facilities provide students with everything they need to reach their potential and become happy, successful adults. At Havant Academy, we pride ourselves on ensuring our students are engaged and involved in their own learning so they feel an ownership of their school. Students will achieve their potential in their examinations but, just as importantly, will develop life skills enabling them to be successful adults.
We are very excited to be recruiting for a Deputy Head Teacher to join our school. We are looking for a strong, well-rounded individual who can drive significant improvements in their areas of responsibility but also for the whole school. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, charismatic leader who has proven leadership experience. This person will be responsible for the strategic improvement of behaviour and inclusion as well as safeguarding and attendance. Experience of leadership and positive impact in these areas will be essential.
Amongst other things this individual must;
- Be a robust and resilient leader, committed to going above and beyond to ensure rapid school improvement
- Be committed to working with pupils, parents and staff to raise standards
- Have a deep understanding of the secondary curriculum
- Have the drive to make a real difference to the lives of pupils in an area of disadvantage
- Be able to challenge and motivate others to achieve outstanding practice
