We are seeking an inspirational leader to join us and strengthen the leadership of our academy as it prepares for the next phase of its development, ensuring that all pupils, regardless of their background, achieve their potential. The successful candidate should be able to provide a record of successful leadership and demonstrate a clear understanding of how to raise standards through high quality teaching and learning.


In the role of Deputy Headteacher you will be responsible for ensuring that the highest standards of teaching, learning and assessment are provided across the whole Academy. 

You will play an integral, key role alongside the Executive Heateacher and the Head of School to inspire, motivate and influence colleagues and pupils, in securing the highest standards of education and raising outcomes for pupils and ensuring that parents/carers are provided with clear and timely information on how well their child is progressing and how to support their child to improve. 

This role does not have a class based teaching commitment however there may be occasions where you will have to undertake some teaching or modelling classroom practice. 


The ideal candidate will: 

  • Be an effective, inclusive and cooperative leadership style that inspires confidence and collegiality in those they lead, which motivates and encourages others to participate and go the extra mile. 
  • Be a driven individual with an ability to set clear targets, track and manage progress and develop strategies to achieve desired outcomes using a range of sources. 
  • Be an excellent teacher with experience teaching across the primary phase, Key Stage 2 experience preferable. 
  • Provide a successful record of effective leadership in more than one key stage.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Be aspirational, with an uncompromising commitment to improving educational outcomes for all children.
  • Demonstrate the ability and determination to adapt and broaden curriculum opportunities for all children, with a clear understanding and awareness of the needs and challenges of disadvantaged pupils.
  • Make a significant contribution to the professional development of staff, drawing on research.
  • Be someone with the ability to motivate and inspire pupils, staff and parents with a strong sense of teamwork and who can lead by example, influencing decision-making and shaping policies.
  • Be able to demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding, equal opportunities and inclusion as well as an understanding, awareness and empathy for all.
