We are seeking to appoint an innovative, resilient, solution focused and inspirational Deputy Headteacher to build on and advance the brave and impactful work of the current Deputy Head who has been promoted to a role closer to home. Heathcote has undergone a successful transformational journey over the last 5 years and key performance indicators are strong in many areas, including being oversubscribed for the first time in Year 7. There needs to be a continued focus on the progress and the continuation of the drive for excellent behavior, safeguarding and pastoral care, as well as the quality of teaching and learning, to ensure that pupil happiness and safety, exam outcomes and life chances are amongst the best in the Local Authority. We strive for all pupils to reach their full potential. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work alongside our talented and highly committed staff team, supportive governors and amazing pupils. School Leaders are flexible and strategic, and we enable and empower leaders through coaching and professional development.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for Quality of Education, ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning and leading on curriculum development.  To develop a vision for creative and inspiring teaching and learning at school. You will have a strategic oversight for CPD, playing a lead role in the development of teachers including ECTs. To quality assure teaching and learning standards and consistency, developing CPD to meet needs of all staff.

 

The school puts well-being and development at the heart of its work and we have very talented staff who are encouraged to grow, develop and work collaboratively, within school and with local schools, and to be the best they can be. We are working to raise standards in a high challenge, low threat way and enable robust systems and structures to ensure consistency in all areas, encouraging the growth and development of all. We are part of the Seven Kings Teaching Alliance,  and the West Essex Teaching School Alliance. The school has excellent resources and a stunning, spacious site on the edge of Epping Forest including a staff car park and surrounding roads that do not require a parking permit.  We are also a 15 minute walk from Chingford Station which has great links into the City.
