This is an incredibly exciting time to be joining St Bartholomew’s Primary Academy.

St Bartholomew’s is an inclusive Church of England School and part of the Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust (DSAT) and our vision and Christian values are at the core of all we do. They underpin all our teaching and learning as we prepare our pupils to be confident, content and conscientious individuals, ready for life’s journey ahead.  We value the partnership that exists between school, parents, church and community and the part that it plays in realising this vision.

We are proud to be a member of the DSAT, which is a strategic and forward thinking Trust that recognises the needs and challenges across all its academies. You will join a team of professionals who are welcoming, compassionate, highly motivated and promote high expectations and aspirations at St Bartholomew’s Primary Academy and throughout the Academy Trust.

Our vision is that children will leave our school with:

  • A set of spiritual and Christian values - honesty, integrity and responsibility.
  • A variety of basic skills - linguistic, mathematical, scientific, artistic, physical and social.
  • An enquiring and discriminating mind with a desire for knowledge and a life-long love of learning.
  • Strong self-esteem and high personal expectations
  • Understanding and respect for others.

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and self-motivated individual to help lead our school on its continuing journey towards outstanding and utilise the opportunity afforded by the dedication and determination of its staff to provide the best education for the children we serve. You will aim to secure good and outstanding teaching that ensures progress and attainment over time within a strong Christian ethos.

The successful candidate will initially be class based with dedicated time set aside for leadership and management duties.

Being committed to excellence, you will be working in collaboration to build strong partnerships with a range of stakeholders, working across the Trust for the growth of thriving Christian learning communities, allowing us to achieve our vision of going ‘Beyond expectations for all of God’s children.’

Hand in hand we learn

It is our aspiration that every child is nurtured, challenged and empowered to ‘soar’ so that they may fulfil their true potential and become confident individuals with the appropriate knowledge and skills to enable them to succeed both now and in the future.

Our school is built upon a strong set of Christian values which ensure the children leave their primary school with a caring and respectful attitude towards others and a sense of the importance of building and maintaining positive relationships with those around them regardless of any differences they may have.

School life at St Bartholomew's is safe and happy, inspiring and exciting!  It is a vibrant place, where enthusiasm bubbles from pupils, staff, and helpers, and where colour and crafts adorn every wall and available surface.

Yet the atmosphere is calm and peaceful, as our children work hard to develop their learning skills, knowledge, and interests during the course of their school day.  St Bartholomew's is especially committed to promoting good behaviour so that the children get the very most from their learning, and school life can be enjoyed by everyone.
