Job overview

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic person who has the education of children at the core.

As the new Deputy Headteacher you will play a significant role in leading the staff, children, parents and Governors in establishing our aims, values and ways of working; embedding current good practice and implementing new initiative strategies to help us “close the gap” for our children and raise standards across the school.

The role will have no more than a 0.5 teaching commitment and will be working with a dedicated and professional team of staff who are eager to move the school forward.

Our school is a happy and inclusive place where everyone is valued and encouraged to excel in order to reach their full potential. St Saviour’s is proud to be a church school with a strong Faith ethos, where everyone is supported to do their best to succeed in a place of peace and love. There is a shared commitment to the teaching of Christianity whilst supporting a multi-faith approach to the curriculum.

If you are an outstanding practitioner with an established reputation for raising standards, coupled with the relentless drive and resilience then we want to hear from you. Visits to the school are strongly recommended.

The right candidate profile for this post includes:

  • DFE recognised Qualified Teacher Status, and recent and relevant CPD
  • At least 3 years recent and relevant senior leadership experience in a primary school
  • Evidence of successful curriculum leadership and involvement in school improvement planning
  • Record of outstanding classroom practice with at least 5 years teaching experience
  • Proven track record of raising standards and meeting challenging targets
  • Ability to lead and manage an effective team, challenging and developing staff and pupils

What can we offer you?

  • A supportive and dedicated Governing Body
  • Pupils who work hard, are proud of their school and are excellent ambassadors for the school
  • Parents/Carers who work in partnership with staff
  • A supportive community

Closing Date: 12:00 noon – Monday 16th October 2017
Shortlisting: 17:00 - Monday 16th October 2017
Interview: Thursday 19th October 2017 – All Day

Our College is committed to Equal Opportunities and to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. All post holders are subject to employment checks and a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

We reserve the right to research applicants on social media platforms and the internet, and the Governing Body may take this into consideration during the recruitment process.
