Job overview

Fantastic Opportunity for an Experienced Primary Teacher Wishing to

Step up to Senior Leadership

L 10 – 14 inner London pay scale (£57,494 - £62,621)

Start Date: September 2019

Contract Type: Permanent, full-time

Seven Mills is a friendly, child centred, forward thinking, fully inclusive single-form entry primary school in a vibrant East London community located just five minutes walk from Canary Wharf. Seven Mills truly believes that every child has the ability to achieve their full potential in all areas of the curriculum, and as the new Deputy Headteacher you will continue to support our exciting whole school ethos to foster this.

The new Deputy Headteacher will help lead a happy team of strong teachers who have a shared, child-centred approach to their work, characterised by high expectations. Seven Mills is dedicated to the inclusion of all children and the Deputy will act as SENCo and inclusion leader and safeguarding lead.

Our ideal candidate will be an excellent class practitioner with a range of experiences across the primary phase. As a model of excellence in the classroom, the Deputy Headteacher will be creative and reflective while open to challenging themselves with new ideas and approaches to pedagogy. This will also mean they can identify areas for improvement and lead and support colleagues with their continuing development. With a 0.4 teaching commitment, the Deputy will be able to support learning and model excellence to children and teachers alike.

At Seven Mills, we have children, families and a community whom we value and who play an integral part in our day-to-day life. The roles we undertake go way beyond the classroom walls and the new Deputy will be instrumental in moving Seven Mills forward in its next chapter.

We are committed to the professional development of all staff, and this would be an excellent opportunity for someone to develop their leadership skills within a stable and supportive environment. As a small school we are very much ‘all hands to the pump’, and all members of the leadership team understand and contribute to our whole school vision.

Supporting statements should refer to the person specification and should be no longer that 2 sides of A4 in Gill Sans font size 11.

Further information and an application form may also be downloaded from the school's website: www.sevenmills.towerhamlets.sch.uk . Visits to the school are strongly encouraged. Please contact the school office on 0207 987 2350 or by email on admin@sevenmills.towerhamlets.sch.uk The headteacher and headteacher designate are also happy to discuss the post informally with prospective candidates on this number.
