Job overview

We are seeking a Deputy Headteacher who has the passion, drive, and enthusiasm to rapidly build on Chichester High School’s existing strengths; to closely support the Headteacher to lead, motivate, develop, and inspire a school team of staff and governors who are passionately committed to giving pupils a wide range of real-life and enriching experiences within a culture of highest expectations.

 About the school

As one of six secondary schools within the ‘Coast’ region within The Kemnal Academies Trust (TKAT), we are a close and supportive community, working hard to ensure all our students excel. With a current and growing role of 1366 students (Years 7-13), we aim to provide all pupils with a rich and dynamic curriculum to enjoy in a safe environment. Judged to be a ‘good’ school by Ofsted in June 2019 with an ‘Outstanding’ rating for our Sixth Form, our vision is for every member of our school community to Enjoy, Endeavour and Excel. We aim to provide a high quality, innovative education ensuring that every student has the opportunity to fulfil their maximum potential. Our curriculum is built upon a strong academic GCSE core and delivered through creative and engaging teaching.

 Vision and Values

Chichester High School is an Academy at the heart of its community that aspires for outstanding achievement, developing the highest aspirations for all and providing first rate opportunities.

We aim to prepare every individual thoroughly so that they can take their place as a responsible global citizen in our modern world. We want to nurture exemplary ‘citizens of our world’ who will leave Chichester High School as well-rounded individuals with high self-esteem and the courage to grab hold of opportunities and try new things. Young people who seek to do something for others. We want to encourage the type of behaviour that is considerate and responsible, caring about others and caring for the planet and making the world a better and more just place.

Encouraging our students to be confident, caring and capable of taking on life’s challenges is at the heart of what we do. We set high standards and nurture our students so that they are able to meet and exceed our and their own expectations.

We have 3 values that underpin the education we deliver to our students:

●      Respect for each other and for learning

●      Equality of opportunity and experience for all

●      A Community that supports and nurtures all its members

As part of The Kemnal Academies Trust, we have access to the expertise, support and opportunities offered by one of the larger multi-academy Trusts in the country. Our staff are dedicated to improving the lives of our students and, unusually, regardless of seniority, every teacher teaches. In this way, all our staff maintain the highest possible standards with regards to subject knowledge and the challenges of the changing secondary curriculum.
