Job overview

To join the senior leadership team from September 2017.

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, inspirational Deputy Headteacher to work in partnership with the governors and the newly appointed Headteacher.

Wells Hall is a large, vibrant and very welcoming school, judged by Ofsted in January 2017 as being 'Good'.

The governing body recently applied for, and hope soon to receive, approval to convert to academy status as part of the Samuel Ward Academy Trust. This is therefore an exciting time to join the school on its next stage of development and is a fantastic opportunity for experienced senior leaders and deputy heads.

The staff, governors, pupils and parents have a great sense of pride in the school and care passionately about its future success.

We are seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic professional who:

  • has experience of leading a team, monitoring teaching and learning, and successfully raising standards
  • has high expectations of children's achievement and behaviour
  • has experience of analysing data and driving forward the key achievements of the school in terms of attainment and progress
  • can lead and develop a broad and engaging curriculum whilst accelerating progress in the basic skills of Reading, Writing and Mathematics
  • has excellent interpersonal skills and can inspire and motivate others to bring about improvement
  • is engaging, flexible and has a determination to succeed
  • has a thorough knowledge of all primary key stages; and
  •  has the skills and experience to become the school's safeguarding lead.

Our team of staff work hard and in close partnership with parents, governors and local schools to ensure the best possible outcomes for our children. There is a really strong team spirit and a dedication to finding creative and exciting ways of meeting the ever changing needs of our pupils.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and encouraged.

Please contact Vicki Martin, School Business Manager, to arrange a visit on (01787) 468922.

Applications and further details are available on our website: www.wellshall.co.uk or email: admin@wellshall.suffolk.sch.uk

Closing date: midday, 22 May 2017.
Interview date: 24 May 2017.
