Stormont House School is an exceptional and widely-respected special school whose pupils achieve up to GCSE/BTEC levels. We became one of the first outstanding schools in the country in 2005 and have improved at each of the 3 full inspections since then. This position plays a vital part in leading us towards our vision of ‘Achievement for All in a Unique World-Class School’. If you are passionate about the difference an excellent school can make to young people’s ability to learn, express themselves and become active global citizens, please read on.

We have two Deputy Headteachers and one has just been promoted to Headteacher in another special school. We are looking for someone who can lead change and is also a first-class teacher. This role focuses on Teaching & Learning. The other deputy has responsibility for Inclusion & Safeguarding. Together with the Business Manager, we have a tightly-knit senior leadership team supported by skilled middle leaders. The staff are excellent and the students are terrific. This role is better-suited to a candidate that has experience of KS4  accreditation and developing pathways post-16.

Please look at the uploaded documents and ring the Headteacher, Kevin McDonnell on (020) 8985 4245 for an informal discussion about the position. Don’t worry if you don’t have special school experience: very few of us did before we came here!
