Job overview

DEPUTY PRINCIPAL

Hereford Sixth Form College is a successful sixth form college graded as outstanding by Ofsted.  We are the first choice for students seeking the highest quality sixth form education in Herefordshire and the surrounding areas.  Our outcomes are exemplary, with outstanding value added results, excellent success rates, strong progression to HE and high numbers of students gaining places at selective universities.  In 2016, the College was named Sixth Form College of the Year by the TES.

Hereford is a growing and culturally rich Cathedral City.  Education provision at primary and secondary level is excellent with areas of outstanding natural beauty within easy reach. Due to the promotion of our current Deputy Principal, Peter Cooper, to Principal we are now seeking an exceptional Deputy whose leadership skills, strategic vision and sound management will enhance the current success and position of the College and allow it to meet the challenges of the future.

We are seeking someone with drive, energy and enthusiasm to help shape the next stage of the College’s development with management experience gained in a college or secondary school with a large sixth form. The College will provide a stimulating, supportive and exciting environment in which further your career and contribute to the strategic development of an outstanding College.

The skills and experience of other members of the College Senior Management Team enable us to be flexible about the range of responsibilities which will be attached to the Deputy Principal’s job description. The role will therefore suit applicants with curriculum and quality and/or student support specialisms. If you would like to discuss this further before making an application, please contact Peter Cooper for an informal discussion.

Interviews will be held on Monday, 6th February 2017

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to meet the Principal Designate on the evening of Sunday, 5th February and overnight accommodation will be provided.
