Belvedere College SJ, founded in 1832 is an all-boys school situated in the heart of Dublin City with a current student enrolment of over 1,000 Students.

The Board of Management invite applications for the positions of Deputy Principal. There are two vacant positions and applications are sought from eligible candidates who are looking to immerse themselves in an exciting leadership role within a dynamic school which is committed to the provision of the highest quality Catholic education in the Jesuit tradition. The Deputy Principal will work alongside the Headmaster in guiding and leading a dedicated Teaching Staff.

The ideal candidate should:

  • Hold a post-primary teaching qualification recognised by the Teaching Council and the DES.
  • Hold a minimum of five years’ teaching experience or equivalent.
  • Be capable of and demonstrate commitment to fostering a well-balanced environment of both academic and individual growth within a faith school of strong ethos and vision.
  • Possess strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate strong performance management skills and excellent knowledge of current curriculum developments.
  • Be prepared to work with key members within the Belvedere Community to ensure the school is managed efficiently in order to provide the highest standards of both educational and extra-curricular activities.

About Belvedere College S.J.

First established in 1832, Belvedere College is a boys’ independent school located in Dublin, Republic of Ireland. A school with a long and proud history, it was founded by the Roman Catholic society of Jesus, and to this day maintains strong links to the Christian church. The school has seen extensive redevelopment and modernisation over the years, and today is able to boast of a wide range of teaching and recreational facilities, including computer labs, swimming pool and gym, a professional-standard theatre and even a dedicated science block opened in 2004. The school is primarily run by the Jesuit order, with Christian principles playing a huge part in the day-to-day running and life of the school. Belvedere College follows the Irish curriculum, offering a huge range of subjects for its students to follow, including classics and Irish-language studies. In keeping with its religious foundation, the school works hard for a number of charitable causes, with students taking part in fundraising activities on a regular basis. The school also provides strong support for older students soon to leave school, as to their best options regarding higher education of employment.
