Job overview

Laude British School of Vila-real was founded in 1996. It is the only private co-educational British school in the Spanish region of Castellón and provides education from Early Years to Sixth Form. The school is recognised by the Spanish Ministry of Education and the British Council in the United Kingdom. The vast majority of pupils (97%) are Spanish. Most teachers are however from overseas, which provides the school with a classic bilingual feel.

The British School of Vila-Real offers a uniquely British education. It is a genuinely bilingual school, with classes taught in English by native speakers throughout the entire school from 1 to 18 years of age. Pupils follow the UK national curriculum as they progress through the school, with the international Primary curriculum also now adding an international dimension to the School’s courses and outlook in the younger years. The pupils benefit from small class sizes, individual attention and a real family atmosphere which nurtures and encourages.

The happiness of the pupils is at the root of all that they do and is the key to the pupil´s achievement at IGCSE and A level. Many students go on each year to UK and other international universities but a large number progress to higher education in Spain. Indeed, as a bilingual school they ensure their pupils are properly educated in Spanish and Valenciano as well as the other subjects required to give them their passport to Spanish universities.

The School’s mission is to provide a broad education designed to enable all students to discover their strengths, and to make the most of their talents. They guide each student and help them to achieve their full academic and personal potential as a means to succeed when confronting the challenges of today's and tomorrow's world. They work closely with parents in order for their students to be happy, well-educated and motivated to learn and grow within a multicultural and multilingual environment. Their outstanding pastoral care system ensures the direct supervision of each child and their personal development. They put special emphasis on moral values and social skills as well as encouraging their students to lead healthy lives.

The ethos at Laude British School of Vila-real is based on inspiring their students, equipping them with all the hard and soft skills they need to be great citizens. The children are nurtured in a holistic, child centred environment and taught according to their own individual needs. The School is fully committed to every child's personal development as a means to achieve academic and personal excellence. The School engenders values such as internationalism, citizenship and charity within a supportive atmosphere and offers an extensive range of cultural, artistic and sporting activities which create vibrant opportunities for their children to enjoy.

Education in values is one of the fundamental pillars of Laude British School of Vila-real. As a part of the International Schools Partnership, the British School of Vila-real shares the passion that parents hold to help their child grow and learn, to be able to contribute to the world in which they will soon find their place. Each child will be inspired to be curious and creative, as the School equips them with the abilities they will need to nourish such talents. Each child will also develop key skills and build confidence. These are the key stepping stones which will allow them to thrive in their future and far beyond any classroom.

Colegios Laude is a group of private schools in Spain offering a high quality, multi-lingual education from 1-18 years of age. With almost 5,500 students in seven prominent locations, the schools count as the largest group of international schools in Spain. Each school offers the highest quality education within secure, well-equipped facilities with a purpose to nurture each child to be an independent learner equipped to thrive in a challenging global world. The schools rank amongst the top private schools in the country with students progressing to the best universities in Spain and around the world.

Colegios Laude are owned by the International Schools Partnership (ISP), a growing family of schools which currently also owns Cambridge International School in the UK and Reach British School in Abu Dhabi, and has plans in process to acquire more schools around the world over the coming years. ISP has a clear aim to put the child’s learning at the core of everything it does. The group’s core purpose is defined as: having the passion for learning that leads to each child’s success in the classroom and beyond; inspiring each curious, creative and confident child to flourish; equipping each child with the knowledge, skills and motivation to succeed; and nurturing each child to develop the character and values to thrive in a challenging world.
