Established in 2010, Gower College Swansea is one of the largest Further Education Colleges in Wales and one of the sector’s leading lights. The College has over 4,500 full time and 8,000 part time learners from across Swansea and neighbouring counties. It operates from 6 locations across the City and County of Swansea and has a current turnover of £37m with over 700 staff. The College receives excellent feedback from its students and has a reputation for delivering the highest standards of teaching and learning. Maintaining this profile is a key strategic priority for the College, as it builds upon its solid foundations and continues to grow organically.

The Role

• Reporting to the Principal, and as a key member of the Strategic Management Team, take the lead in developing and implementing the strategic and operational plans of the College.
• Drive key strategic initiatives across the College, with a focus on improving communication, on supporting and enhancing the management capability of leaders, and on technological innovations designed to improve the learning environment for staff and students.
• Lead all aspects of the College’s engagement with schools, and represent the College in key external relationships.
• Deputise for the Principal as required.

The Candidate

• A track record of senior leadership and management within a further education, training provider, or related educational setting.
• Well-developed strategic skills with proven experience of developing, agreeing, and driving the implementation of corporate-wide strategy.
• Excellent communication and people management skills, with an empowering and positive leadership style that inspires staff at all levels of an organisation.

• Yn atebol i’r Pennaeth, ac fel aelod allweddol o’r Tîm Rheolaeth Strategol, byddwch yn arwain y gwaith o ddatblygu a gweithredu cynlluniau strategol a gweithredol y Coleg.
• Llywio mentrau strategol allweddol ar draws y Coleg, gyda ffocws ar wella cyfathrebu, ar gefnogi a datblygu gallu arweinwyr i reoli, ac ar fentrau technolegol sydd â’r bwriad o wella’r amgylchedd dysgu i staff a myfyrwyr.
• Arwain pob agwedd ar ymgysylltiad y Coleg ag ysgolion, a chynrychioli’r Coleg mewn perthnasau allanol allweddol.
• Dirprwyo ar gyfer y Pennaeth yn ôl yr angen.

• Hanes o arweinyddiaeth a rheolaeth ar lefel uwch mewn lleoliad addysg bellach, darparwyr hyfforddiant, neu leoliad addysgol cysylltiedig.
• Sgiliau strategol datblygedig gyda phrofiad o ddatblygu, llywio a chytuno ar weithrediad y strategaeth ledled y gorfforaeth . 
• Sgiliau ardderchog o ran rheoli pobl a chyfathrebu, ac arddull arweinyddiaeth gadarnhaol a grymus sy’n ysbrydoli staff ar bob lefel yn y sefydliad.
