Key Responsibilities

  • act as Primary lead across all programmes
  • day to day programme support taking responsibility for trainee welfare and progress
  • school support and development
  • delivering training for trainees and schools
  • lead the Primary PGCE
  • marketing and recruitment activities
  • contributing to developing best practice
  • contributing to programme evaluationcontributing to OFSTED preparation, evidence and evaluation

Contribute to training, development and monitoring of Pathway Tutors

  • training, monitoring and supporting tutors including induction for new tutors
  • tutor on both the School Direct and Straight to Teach Programmes, where necessary
  •  quality assurance activities including making joint visits with tutors
  • monitoring tutor activity on our virtual learning environment (VLE) to ensure that tutors are challenging, supporting and monitoring learners’ progress
  • assessing tutor performance against a set of performance criteria and providing appropriate support and training to raise standards
  • organise and train PGCE markers from the programme Pathway Tutors
  • delivering training to improve tutors’ skills and performance, as directed by the relevant Programme Director
  •  reporting to Programme Directors on tutor progress

Contribute to Monitoring of Trainee Progress:

  • Monitoring trainees’ engagement with the VLE and quality of their performance, as directed by the relevant Programme Director
  •  Delivering training for trainees through webinars and face to face training, as directed by the relevant Programme Director
  • Monitor Primary trainees’ progress and provide appropriate training and intervention to support trainee development
  • Monitor trainee performance in the PGCE assignments and arrange relevant training
  • Evaluate the Primary Programme and in consultation with the Programme Directors develop the Primary Programme

Marketing and Recruitment:

  • Support and develop school recruitment activities for School Direct
  • Support school interviews /QA interviews
  • Create and manage the ITT Blog
  • Contribute to the TES Institute ITT Website
  • Collect and create ITT success stories/case studies for marketing initiatives
  •  Contribute to programme evaluation and trainee feedback

Further Professional Duties:

  • Contributing to OFSTED preparation and evaluation
  • Attending, when requested, professional development training in relation to the role
  • Acting as an ambassador for TES Institute

Who you are

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • In-school experience in England
  • Experience of leadership at a senior level
  • Experience with Ofsted inspections
  • Masters degree preferable
  • A strong record in programme/policy delivery
  • A sound understanding of educational and general technologies, e.g. webinar software, Skype, email, virtual learning environments

Our programmes

Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) programmes for trainee teachers

These 100% online programmes are available to anyone with a conditional offer on a teacher training programme in (currently) Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Modern Languages, Computing, Biology and Geography, with English and Primary with Maths to be launched shortly, who needs to enhance their subject knowledge before starting ITT. Funding from the NCTL is available to eligible trainees for programme lengths ranging from 8-28 weeks for all subjects other than English.
