Lilian Baylis Technology School is a mixed, 11-18, inner city school located in a new building at Vauxhall, London. We are a multicultural community school, which serves the local community, and we view this as one of our key strengths. We value the diversity of our school, and strive to ensure that our students feel represented, both at whole school level and within the curriculum.

Our students are well behaved and ambitious, and they also value the school.  All visitors to the school always comment on the calm and productive atmosphere of lessons. Our last OfSTED inspection stated we were ‘outstanding in all aspects’.

Our motto is to “Educate, Empower, Excel” and our pastoral systems form the backbone to achieving this for our students.  We are proud of the strong systems we have in place already, and the successful candidate would join a well established pastoral team, working closely with the Team Leader.

In particular, we are looking for an organised and enthusiastic person who could play an integral part in providing support for our most vulnerable students, including via working with external agencies, as well as developing and embedding systems to maintain high standards of behaviour across the school.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone currently working as a Pastoral Officer, or someone who is working in children’s services and would bring additional expertise to the role.  We offer a highly supportive and committed working environment within a culture of success.  CPD provision is strong and we aim for our Pastoral team to be at the leading edge of professional practice, especially in improving the mental wellbeing of our students.

“Leaders have created a broad and highly ambitious curriculum which provides pupils with the knowledge and skills they need for their next steps."

“Leaders work hard to remove any barriers to learning so that all pupils can be successful. All pupils excel and flourish here. Pupils are safe.”

“Leaders provide a curriculum that is broad and ambitious. Across the curriculum, the breadth of coverage far exceeds the expectations of the national curriculum.”

“Leaders are robust in their checks on pupils’ attendance and follow up any absences swiftly. All pupils, including pupils with SEND are taught the same ambitious curriculum.”
