Design and Technology and Performing Arts Technician – 37 Hours per week for 39 weeks of the year
Salary Scale – G22
We need a skilled, competent, enthusiastic and motivated Design and Technology and Performing Arts Technician to provide effective support to the teaching staff and students of two hugely popular, vibrant and innovative Faculty areas with outstanding results.
The ideal candidate will have superb technical skills and knowledge and will support Faculty areas where the subjects of Graphics, Product Design, Food Technology, Textiles, Engineering, Art, Photography, Music, Drama and Theatre Studies are taught from KS3 to KS5.
· Be able to prioritise and plan effective support for Graphics, Product Design, Engineering, Music, Drama and Theatre Studies.
· Be able to prepare and assemble and confidently use apparatus, equipment and materials for classwork, according to a pre-determined programme.
· Be able to construct sets for Performing Arts.
· Be confident in delivering demonstrations for staff and students.
· Be aware of Health and Safety implications.
· Be First Aid trained, or be willing to be.
· Be DATA trained, or willing to be.
· Be aware of storage regulations and basic maintenance of equipment.
· Have knowledge of sound and lighting systems.
· Work as a team member.
· Be an excellent communicator who develops positive relationships with students and staff alike.
