Job overview
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly organised individual to support our Department of Creative Technologies. The successful candidate will need to be flexible as tasks vary from day to day and candidates must be prepared to work with, and assist, our committed and hardworking pupils at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (ages 11 -16) in a very busy practical environment. The College currently offers GCSE Design and Technology in Year 10 and 11 (AQA Syllabus). We are seeking a person who can share their expertise with our pupils. Training for specialist equipment will be provided.
The successful candidate will be the nominated first aider for the Creative Technology Department. First aid experience and qualifications would be an advantage, but training would be provided.
The post holder will be required to work closely with the Head of Creative Technologies and departmental staff but will also need to use their own initiative and be confident to work independently providing technical support to the Department.
The role will include:
· Preparation and supervision of specialist equipment for lessons
· Preparing resources and materials
· Working with a range of CAD / CAM programmes
· Providing technical support to the teaching staff and pupils
· Classroom displays
· Maintaining a safe working environment including the completion of risk assessments
· Maintain documentation relating to Health & Safety / COSHH
· Ordering and maintaining resources

Chulmleigh College is a successful and ambitious rural secondary school with a strong reputation for high standards. The progress of our pupils is consistently amongst the best in the region.. In 2024 our provisional Progress 8 Figure of +0.81 places us in the top 5% of schools nationally.
The College was totally rebuilt a few years ago, with the completed buildings opening in 2017.
