One year temporary contract in the first instance

The Design Technology technician’s role is to support the department in the delivery of curricular and extra-curricular activities, in the preparation and clearing away of materials and equipment and supporting children with their learning.

Responsibilities

  • To prepare equipment and teaching areas for practical classes.
  • To work alongside the class teacher providing assistance when needed.
  • Work with small groups of pupils on curriculum projects.
  • To assist with wall displays.
  • Maintain a safe and tidy work environment.
  • Regular checks and maintain equipment and materials.

Person Specification

The successful candidate must have the following:

  • Good communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of store-keeping and machinery used in a DT environment is an advantage.

It is essential that the applicant has experience of working with secondary pupils and a level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
