Tytherington School are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Design and Technology Technician/Learning Facilitator to work within our busy D&T department.

The key aspect of the technician role will involve coordinating the use of the practical resources and facilities within the Design Technology department in support of the curriculum, as well as working with the Head of Department. Working closely with teaching staff and students during lesson time, the technician will assist in the maintenance and preparation of materials and equipment and setting up equipment for demonstrations for practical work. The post holder will be required to operate and maintain workshop tools and will be responsible for testing new equipment. The role will also involve assisting in the general maintenance of the workshop, keeping up to date with health and safety requirements and with developments in Design and Technology. A key aspect of the role will be to work on a one-to-one with selected students to aid their progress within Design and Technology and under the direction of class teachers, use agreed lesson plans to lead the teaching and learning of individuals/groups of pupils and provide feedback/liaise with colleagues over areas of concern.

Hours of Work: 37 per week 8.00 – 16.00 Monday – Thursday, 8.00 – 15.30 Friday, 39 weeks per year.   

Salary: Grade 5: £18,682 – £20,806 per annum (£21,748-£24,221 FTE) per annum

Pension: Local Government Pension Scheme (contributory)
