Streatham & Clapham High School is looking for a highly capable and enthusiastic DT Technician to support the safe delivery of practicals and co-curricular activities within the Design Technology & Engineering department.
As a technician, you will be responsible for organising DT resources, teaching workshops, technician work, and maintaining work areas and storage facilities. Liaising closely with teaching staff, you will plan and prepare the materials and resources required for demonstration and practical work, fulfilling requests for resources and ensuring that teaching can be delivered effectively.
You will be able to demonstrate the safe and efficient use of a range of machinery, equipment and techniques regularly used in the DT department, i.e. laser cutter, 3D printer, bandsaw etc. You will possess experience of CAD/CAM systems and other workshop processes, in addition to previous experience of working as a technician. You will also demonstrate the ability to manufacture and process wood, metal and plastic, as well as the ability to manufacture working electronic circuits from circuit diagrams. You should be appropriately certified where required.
