Design Technology Teacher

The International School Brunei is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Design Technology Teacher to join our dynamic Science faculty from August 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to teach DT to students aged 11–18, including those studying the IB Diploma Programme.

We welcome applications from teachers with experience in the IB Diploma, A Level, or equivalent post-16 qualifications in DT.

Design Technology is focused on product design for sustainability.  Students of all ages look into 'real-life' issues and problems and research and design products that may support this area.  They develop various skills through the curriculum and year groups to be able to use a range of materials from wood to plastic to metal as well as graphics.  ICT and computing is also integrated into the curriculum.  The department is well resourced and able to innovate in many ways.

You will be joining a highly collaborative and creative team, with opportunities to lead curriculum initiatives. Teachers are encouraged to innovate within a supportive framework.

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject
  

• UK QTS or equivalent international teaching qualification

Desirable:

• Experience in a holistic, student-centred educational environment
  

• Experience teaching post-16 qualifications (IB, A Level, or equivalent)

• Involvement in school exhibitions
  

• Willingness to contribute to school life beyond the classroom
  

• Experience working in an innovative or fast-paced international setting
