Required from September 2020

MPS

We are looking to appoint a newly qualified, talented and inspirational Design Technology Teacher who is passionate about their subject. The successful candidate will be a well-qualified, outstanding practitioner who can teach Design Technology up to GCSE level and is committed to promoting and developing high quality subject provision within our school. The department is also looking to introduce BTEC Engineering to the curriculum - the ability to teach this is not essential as full training will be provided.

At Wombourne High School we highly value personal attributes of hard work, positivity and kindness, and we are looking for staff who can model these values.

The school is proud of the opportunities it offers for talented design students to develop their potential and demonstrate their abilities. We are keen to recruit a Design Technology teacher who will have expertise with a wide range of materials, tools, machines, methods and associated processes.

This post would be suitable for an NQT or someone in the early stages of their career.  The teacher we appoint will be fully supported in their induction and have access to high quality professional development opportunities.

As a founder member of the Invictus Education Multi-Academy Trust, Wombourne High School is part of a carefully planned collaboration between six self-selecting, highly successful schools.  Within the Trust each school retains its own separate identity, but all members are totally committed to working together to ensure that each of our students receives the best possible education.  An independent style of education where students are consistently challenged to be the best that they can be.

Being a member of Invictus Education Trust brings additional opportunities for staff including support from the Invictus Director of Design Technology, subject specific professional development and the chance to regularly share best practice with Design Technology colleagues from across the Trust. Students also benefit from being part of the Trust through access to well attended and valued activities and external trips.

A tour of the school will form part of the interview programme but If you have any questions about this vacancy, please contact Ree Hickman, PA to Headteacher, on 01902 504934 or rhickman@wombournehighschool.co.uk
