Design Technology Technician

  • Thursday/Friday: 08.45 – 17.00

An opportunity is now available for a Design Technology Technician to join our successful DT Department.

The role will support the DT teaching staff by providing and preparing all the necessary resources required for practical lessons, along with providing hands-on support for pupils during lessons. This will include setting up and clearing away practical equipment and maintenance and stock control of departmental resources. 

The successful applicant should possess qualifications and/or technical experience gained from a similar workplace or industry. Ideally, skills and knowledge will be in the field of design technology/engineering and the practical use of a variety of materials. You will be organised and methodical in your approach, with the ability to multi-task and fulfil requirements at short notice. You will be cheerful, team focused and well presented.

A knowledge of health and safety and COSHH regulations will be essential, along with experience of setting up equipment and co-ordinating practical risk assessments. Competent IT and administration skills are required.

The position would suit an individual who enjoys, and has experience of, working within a classroom/workshop environment. The role will involve some lifting and manual handling of equipment and resources. Practical knowledge of setting up and maintaining equipment and machinery is essential.
