Salary:         Up to £38,000 per annum dependent on experience & qualifications (Actual Take Home Salary, Pre Tax) 

Hours:         Monday to Friday

Contract:       Permanent, Term Time Only 

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Design Technology Tutor to join our close-knit team at Parkside House School due to growth in service. If you are looking to join a dedicated team in a school that will welcome your ideas and re-engage our young people, we would like to hear from you. 

We are going through an exciting period of growth and are upgrading our Design and Technology area within school. We are also looking for a teacher who would be happy to teach employability skills alongside their specialism. 

About the School

Parkside House School is an Independent Special School, approved for pupils with Special Education Needs by the Department for Education. Our school aims to provide a high-quality education package to pupils who have difficulties in relating to education or others within a mainstream setting.

The school is registered to accommodate 35 pupils from 10 – 18 years; we specialise in teaching pupils with Emotional, Social and Behavioural needs, and with other associated learning and cognitive difficulties.

The aim of the site is to provide enough support to unlock each child’s potential so they can live fulfilling and productive lives. We provide young people with as much freedom as possible in a safe and supervised environment. This is achievable due to the dedication and support from a range of employed professionals who are passionate, reliable, and understanding

Following the expansion of Parkside House School, we are seeking to employ a hardworking and resilient individual to work as a Design Technology Tutor supporting the learning and development of pupils with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and moderate learning difficulties (MLD). 

About the Role

We require a Design Technology Tutor who can make a significant contribution to our school. The successful candidate will be an innovative, reflective practitioner who can demonstrate the willingness to adapt and learn. We are looking for an individual with high expectations and standards who can offer excellent behavioural management skills. An additional strength would be a creative, engaging approach to curriculum design and planning both within the classroom and in the wider outdoor learning environment. 

Educated to Qualified Teacher Status, you will be calm, engaging, resilient, and have an innovative style of teaching, motivated by helping every child to reach their potential.

Parkside House School is registered to accommodate 55 pupils aged KS2 from year 6 only - KS5. We specialise in teaching pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs with other associated learning difficulties, including autistic spectrum disorders, attachment disorders, oppositional defiance disorder, ADHD and ADD.
