Are you committed to safeguarding with the ability to support child protection procedures across our school and Children’s Home?
Cambian Southlands School require a Designated Safeguarding Lead to join our dynamic team. They will work within the SLT to create and maintain a positive safeguarding culture. We are seeking an accomplished individual who has the capabilities to support safeguarding procedures in its widest context. This includes working with Behaviour support lead to analyse data to support the development of safety plans and restraint reduction plans, taking part in strategy discussions and contribute to the assessment of children.
The role of designated safeguarding lead is critical to developing and contributing to early intervention strategies. You will lead and encourage multi agency working and the protection of vulnerable children, ensuring regular liaison with external agencies, parents and other stakeholders.

About Southlands School
Cambian Group, the UK’s largest provider of specialist services in education, mental health rehabilitation and learning disabilities, is looking for a dedicated, caring individual to join the company as a Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Southlands School is an Ofsted-registered independent specialist school, offering 38-week through to 52-week residential and day placements for boys and girls aged 7-19 years old with a diagnosis of Asperger's Syndrome and other associated difficulties on the Autistic Spectrum.
The purpose of the school is to prepare students for the demands of adult life through staff expertise and specialist approaches. This includes providing a nurturing environment that encourages students to flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.
Skills and Knowledge
Expert knowledge of legislation and guidance on safeguarding and working with young people, including knowledge of the responsibilities of schools and other agencies
Ability to work with a range of people with the aim of ensuring the safety and welfare of children
Awareness of local and national agencies that provide support for children and their families
Excellent record keeping skills and attention to detail, in order to produce reports, take minutes of meetings, and document safeguarding concerns
Good IT skills,
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate a vision and inspire others
Ability to build effective working relationships with staff and other stakeholders
