Job overview

This is a home-based role, supporting schools in the Blackpool, Stoke-on-Trent, Wolverhampton, Bradford and Oldham areas. 

Fixed term contract until March 2019 

We are seeking a proactive team players with experience of providing professional support to teachers to join the Future Physics Leaders project. We are a charitable membership organisation with a worldwide membership from enthusiastic amateurs to those at the top of their sector in academia, business, education and government. This is an exciting role that will require the post holder to work with teachers to improve standards in areas of the country that have been identified as most in need of support.   Responsibilities include: 

•Working with schools to develop a programme of CPD and support 

•Developing and leading physics CPD sessions and events for teachers of physics 

•Providing support and subject-specific mentoring for early-career teachers of physics 

•Recruiting schools to the project as required

It is essential that you have experience of teaching physics in schools or colleges to a high standard. You will also have experience of providing professional support to teachers and should have evidence to support this.  You should have great leadership skills and be able to work with minimal supervision. This includes good prioritisation skills and the ability to multi-task. It is important that you have negotiation and influencing skills for your work with teachers and senior leadership teams.
