Hills Road Sixth Form College is looking for a proactive and versatile Development Coordinator to support the Development Director in fundraising for the College.

The Development office was established in February 2025 in order to raise funds for facilities and activities which are over and above what is possible through state funding alone. The Development Director has begun building relationships with alumni, parents, companies and Trusts/Foundations and this is a fantastic opportunity to join the team in a new role in order to further grow fundraising for the College.

We offer a wide range of competitive benefits including a generous pension scheme, free use of the College sporting facilities, free on-site parking, cycle to work scheme, discounted local train travel, as well as discounts on all our Adult Education courses.

The College is committed to carefully considering all flexible working requests. For this role in particular, we are open to discussing the possibility of a term-time only contract, and flexible working days. Please wait until the job offer stage before asking us about flexibility, and we will explore what would work best in this role.

Closing date: Monday 8th December 2025 at 9am

Interviews: Thursday 18th December 2025

Details and an application form for the above post may be obtained from our website https://www.hillsroad.ac.uk

The College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its students and staff and expects all members of the College community, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment. About Hills Road Sixth Form College

Hills Road Sixth Form College operates on an attractive site just over a mile south of the centre of the historic city of Cambridge. The site has been occupied since 1903, when it was originally home to the Cambridge and County School for Boys. Since its inception in 1974, succeeding the former boys’ grammar school, the College has concentrated mainly on providing Advanced level courses to students in the Cambridge area.

Having responded to strong and sustained demand for places over a number of years, we now have 2,950 full-time 16-19 students for whom we provide a choice of 36 A level subjects plus the Extended Project Qualification, an extensive programme of enrichment and extra-curricular activities and responsive individual support and guidance. The breadth, depth and challenge of this curriculum are at the heart of our long-standing educational vision, and Hills Road Sixth Form College continues to enjoy a national reputation for excellence, including, in our last two Ofsted inspections, being rated outstanding in all graded areas.

At Hills Road, we are strongly committed to providing our students with a broad sixth form education characterised by academic excellence, high-quality learning experiences and extensive enrichment opportunities. Students are encouraged to achieve the highest standards not only in the classroom but also in a range of extra-curricular activities, which help them develop new skills, think independently and exercise their responsibilities as global citizens. We seek to promote a caring and supportive environment with a strong sense of community where all students are valued equally as individuals and treated as young adults.

The College is a stimulating and rewarding place in which to work and study. Facilities are excellent with new and remodelled purpose built accommodation, including our state-of-the-art Sports and Tennis Centre, and the Study Centre which houses the Supported Independent Learning Service, and a fabulous Staff Room with roof terrace.
