Stonyhurst College is the UK’s leading Catholic co-educational boarding and day school for 3 – 18 years. It has boarding from 7 years.
At the College, there are almost 500 pupils aged 13-18, two thirds of whom are boarders. At Stonyhurst St Mary’s Hall, the adjacent dedicated feeder and preparatory school, there are around 270 pupils aged 3-13. The College is set in stunning countryside, near the Ribble and Hodder rivers and the beautiful Trough of Bowland. Manchester is only about an hour away by road or rail. The market town of Clitheroe is four miles away, and we are 12 miles from the city of Preston. The Lake District can be reached in about an hour, and the Yorkshire Dales are even closer.
The College is at an exciting time in its history and is embarking on a journey that promises to make Stonyhurst the first choice Catholic Boarding School in the UK. Central to this vision is the delivery of a highly ambitious and well-articulated multi-million pound Stonyhurst Masterplan.
The College is seeking to recruit a new Development team to raise (at least) £20 million in support of its Masterplan over the next 20 years. Through the delivery of this plan, the College is seeking to improve every aspect of living and learning. Fundraising in support of the Stonyhurst Masterplan will be led by the Development Director and supported by this newly created Development Team.
The School seeks an outstanding Development Director to embed a long-term culture of philanthropic support. The primary responsibilities for this important role will be to take responsibility for the School’s capital fundraising with a long-term goal to raise £20 million in support of the College’s highly ambitious Stonyhurst Masterplan.
This is a senior position and potentially part of the College Management Team. The Development Director will provide leadership for, and management of, all aspects of development and fundraising in support of the Stonyhurst Masterplan.
The appointee will report directly to the Director of Strategic Development and work closely with members of the Senior Executive team in respect of the implementation of development and fundraising strategy.
A competitive remuneration package will be offered to the right candidate. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and progress development and fundraising in one of the top schools in the UK.
