About the job

As our Development Manager, you will be instrumental in leading the design and development of qualifications and sample assessments. Your focus will be on meeting the diverse needs of learners, customers, and stakeholders while ensuring compliance with government and regulatory requirements.

  • Full time position.

Your Key Responsibilities

Insight and Market Shaping:

  • Conduct in-depth research to create a strong evidence base.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to understand customer and learner needs.
  • Maintain insight into best practices in teaching, learning, and assessment.

Product Strategy and Financial Management:

  • Develop strategies for designing and developing qualifications.
  • Contribute to sector strategy development.
  • Efficiently manage opex and capex budgets.

Product Design and Development:

  • Lead the design and development of qualifications that meet stakeholder needs.
  • Manage the qualification development process to ensure timely delivery.
  • Strategically recruit, train, and manage writing teams.

Implementation, Customer Experience, and Campaigns:

  • Ensure effective implementation of new qualifications.
  • Maintain the accuracy and validity of qualifications throughout their lifecycle.
  • Enhance the overall customer and learner experience.

Leadership and Management:

  • Collaborate effectively in virtual teams across Pearson.
  • Champion a 'learner and customer first' culture.
  • Lead departmental initiatives and provide mentorship as required.

Our Successful Candidate

We are looking for a motivated and collaborative Development Manager with extensive experience in the education and qualifications market. With strong project management skills, and proven experience in the design, development, and/or delivery of qualifications.

This role will also require organisational, agility, influential leadership, commercial acumen, customer empathy, strategic thinking, excellent communications.
