St. Olave’s Grammar School is currently advertising for an exciting new opportunity for a Development Manager. Working under the School Business Manager, you will develop a culture of giving, to enable us to provide the best educational experience for young people.  The Development Manager will lead on income generation for St. Olave’s Grammar School and continue to build on the foundations of the fundraising network already in place, by broadening the potential with regular donors, businesses, wealthy individuals and benefactors.

• Manage the Old Olavian programme, boost income generation from this source and manage all alumini queries/administration/events/database.

• Implement a fundraising strategy with particular regard to recent PR implications.

• Manage the school’s Voluntary Fund (reporting to the SBM on uptake and statistics).

• Enhance, promote and manage the school’s lettings programme (including involvement with site developments that have potential for lettings).

Proposed working hours 36 hours per week, term time only (39 weeks per year).  Some flexibility will be required to cover events related to development.  Hours to be agreed with the SBM, but approximately 8.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday during term-time (some flexibility available).

The role will be paid at Grade P01, scale 27-30, currently £32,430 - £34,794 per annum.  Pro-rata, this equates to £28,019 - £30,062.

Our rugby squad recently toured South Africa; Biology students spent three weeks in Fiji doing scientific research with Operation Wallacea; our Economists visited the World Bank and United Nations in New York and Washington; Art students spent a week in Copenhagen; others visited the sites of Ancient Greece or trekked the jungles, mountains or volcanoes of Honduras, Costa Rica or Tanzania on World Challenge. Our top Chess and Fives teams comprise a number of national champions whilst our budding playwrights have had scripts performed at the National Theatre. Each year 4 choral scholars provide the trebles for The Queen’s Chapel of The Savoy – part of the school’s rich cultural heritage and a link with its historic origins near London Bridge where it was originally founded in 1561 and later given a Royal Charter by Queen Elizabeth I in 1571.
