Big Creative Training (BCT) job specification (Digital Marketing Tutor - Part Time)


Big Creative Training is a well-established and expanding creative industry training provider with a long track record of delivering positive outcomes for learners. Our mission is to improve the lives of young people and adults through high quality training and creative industry experiences. 


We have more than 400 per year going through our vocational training programmes including apprenticeships and adult learners. We have great industry links and work with over 100 creative sector employers and SMEs.


These are exciting times for the Adult learning programme at BCT. We are expanding our adult learning provision along with launching a brand new world class Digital Future Campus including industry standard training rooms, equipment, VFX studios, e-sports arena and editing suites. 


We are looking for an outstanding Digital Marketing Tutor to join our dedicated adult learning team based in Walthamstow, East London. The successful candidate will have maths and English at GCSE grade “C/4” or above and evidence of outstanding practice working with age 19+ learners in a city environment and via online delivery.


Key tasks

• Plan and deliver exciting lessons that support learner progression

• Ensure learners are retained and achieve their qualification

• Ensure the course embeds digital marketing knowledge and skills for learners

• Use a range of assessment methods ensuring learners are inspired to progress

• Work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of learners

• Support learner development through one to one tutorials and progress reviews

• Mark and upload all student work within 2 weeks of course completion.

• Email BCT employment team with Apprenticeship/Employment ready learners.


Desired qualities

• Ability to empathise with and understand the challenges faced by adults who have been unemployed and are looking to get back into the labour market.

• Ability to inspire learners by developing lessons they can relate to, build on their needs and interests and often facilitate their need to retrain

• Experience of working professionally in Digital Marketing

• Extremely organised and able to manage own workload effectively and flexibly

• Highly motivated and driven to succeed in a rewarding environment

• Outstanding teaching and communication skills 

• Positive, solution focused and proactive in managing and responding to data 

• Assertive and self-confident in management of the learning environment

• Committed and willing to “go the extra mile” to meet targets

• Ambitious – will not settle for less than outstanding standards of work and behaviour

Salary and days of work

• Adult education budget contract – agreed day rate £150 per day

• 12 days teaching per course to be invoiced upon the completion of each course. 1 additional day planning and marking 

• 6 tutor meetings in the academic year 

• Standardisation meeting, one annually

• Start date 1st March 2022

We welcome applications from industry professionals who wish enter teaching via the full teaching qualification with support funded by the Taking Teaching Further scheme. This will allow you 6 months of reduced timetable for training and support whilst receiving full pay and cover all qualification costs over the two years of study’
