The Children’s Hospital School at Great Ormond Street & UCH is looking for an experienced I.T. professional with drive, enthusiasm and resilience.

Our school is in a unique position embedded within two large hospitals.  Although day to day we might only work with up to 200 pupils, the complexity of where and how pupils are taught, means it is essential that our innovative use of technology is seamless.

The role is extremely varied but your key responsibilities will be:

• establishing and maintaining computer networks within the School

• offering support to staff and students and troubleshooting any problems that may arise

• developing our technical strategy that builds on how ICT is currently used within the school and incorporates plans for future needs and aspirations

You will need to have

• a strong working knowledge of network systems, their installation, maintenance and adaptation

• good communication and interpersonal skills

• the ability to build strong relationships with our key partners in education and health teams

This is a key new role for our school; it is essential we find not only an expert technician but a professional who is able to use their initiative, listen to others and be clear on the strategy moving forwards. This is a chance to take that next step from a purely technical role to developing your strategic skills with the support of our leadership team.

The role might particularly suit a professional looking to develop their own independent interests such as software development which could be continued out of term time, during the school holiday periods.

We encourage interested applicants to read our website and the attached documents carefully http://www.gosh.nhs.uk/the-childrens-hospital-school/. You will quickly see that you are applying to an extremely creative, successful school with a clear ethos of achievement, continuity and enjoyment for our truly exceptional pupils.

CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS: Thursday 4th July 2019 by 10 a.m.

Interviews: Thursday 11th July 2019

Please note we cannot accommodate visits prior to applications and we will only contact those candidates who are shortlisted for interview. Tours of the school will be offered as part of the interview process.

Any   queries   should   be   made   by   email   to vacancy@gosh.camden.sch.uk. Please do NOT call the School directly. We will not accept or respond to CVs or incomplete application forms.

The Children’s Hospital School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  We particularly welcome applications from underrepresented groups including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability, sexual orientation or religion.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check, pass a health check and have at least two supportive references (including most recent employer).
