We are looking for 3 enthusiastic, experienced Diploma/Cert 3 to join our team.

Hampshire House is a co-educational school based long day care centre catering for children from 6 months to 5 years. Our  passionate Hampshire House staff are committed to being co-learners with the children and are prepared to encourage and support their inquiries of the world.

We currently have one (full time) alternating shifts role available in our Toddler Room  and two (full time) alternating shifts available in our Preschool Room.  

The key responsibilities of the positions include (but are not limited to):


General Responsibilities:

• To contribute to the philosophy of Hampshire House and have a clear understanding of its application to planning, programming and every day practice. 

• Responsible for planning and delivering stimulating educational programs and maintaining accurate records. 

• To be directly responsible in a day-to-day context to the Director of Hampshire House. 

• To work as part of a team to ensure high quality care and education for all children and work productively with colleagues.

• To undertake ongoing and sustained professional learning to maintain current educational research and ideas, and to share this with other staff.


Responsibilities to Children:

• To create a caring, hygienic and safe educational environment for the children.

• To ensure that the health, hygiene and nutritional needs of the children in the room are met.

• To implement the Centre’s agreed behaviour management strategies. 

• To develop programs based on the children’s interests and level of development.

• To plan for and engage children in inquiry and document this learning. 

• To design and implement learning experiences that are contextually relevant to the children and address the Early Years Learning Framework & National Quality Standards.

• To demonstrate an effective use of ICT for teaching and learning.

• To use research-based information to implement effective teaching to suit individual needs.

• To design and facilitate a wide variety of purposeful group structures to engage and promote curiosity, open-mindedness and participation.

• To be familiar with the Education & Care Services National Regulations (2011) and meet the staff requirements contained in them.


Responsibilities to Families and Community:

• To communicate collaboratively with parents about their child’s day, general development and interests.

• To initiate and maintain positive relationships with parents, caregivers, children, staff and members of the Kambala community.

• To involve parents in the planning and learning environment and experiences.

• To demonstrate sensitivity, warmth, empathy, understanding and respect in all communication within Hampshire House and the wider Kambala community. 


We are looking for Educators who:

• have a natural rapport with staff and children

• possess a high degree of confidentiality;

• hold excellent interpersonal skills;

• possess analytical and problem-solving skills;

• has effective verbal and listening communications skills; 

• can demonstrate excellent attention to detail;

• possesses excellent organisational skills;

• have a commitment to ongoing professional learning;

• have previous experience in programming andn planning for children aged 0-5 years;

• have an ACECQA approved Diploma/Cert 3 in Early Childhood;

• have approved First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training.

Kambala is an all-girls, non-selective, Anglican, independent, all-through day and boarding school in New South Wales, serving students from the age of 4-18. The all-through school is situated in Rose Bay, and overlooks the Sydney Harbour. 

Kambala was founded in 1997. The current principal has been there since 2014. It is divided into three sites: the school’s early learning centre, a primary school and a secondary school. The school places a huge importance on IT skills, seeing all students equipped with their own iPad from primary school. It is vital to the all-through school that teachers benefit from professional training opportunities in a welcoming and stimulating working environment.

Kambala boasts a wide range of modern learning facilities across its three campuses, including multi-purpose halls, multiple play areas, a 25-metre swimming pool, a large, well-stocked library, extensive outdoor grounds, science laboratories, photography lighting rooms and sports courts.

Curriculum

The all-through school offers a broad and varied curriculum, including an extensive range of languages - French, Japanese, Latin or Mandarin. In secondary school, pupils work to study towards the International Baccalaureate (IB). Extracurricular activities are available for students to get involved in, ranging from sports to a school choir. There is also private tutoring for students requiring additional help.
